Poinsettia, the Christmas flower

The poinsettia, also known in Greece as the Alexandrinó, is the most popular ornamental plant of the Christmas season. Its beauty lies in its bright red leaves, which develop their characteristic colour at the beginning of winter.
A crucial point in poinsettia cultivation is the reddening of the leaves. It is important for this process to be completed before the holiday season so that sales can begin in late November and peak during the Christmas period.
This year, although there are plants of exceptional quality, it remains uncertain whether they will reach the market due to store closures and restrictions. At the moment, most shops remain closed, and it is still unknown when they will reopen.
There is a risk that this Christmas may be a little less “red.” However, we remain hopeful that the situation will soon improve!
